David
“the Dragon” Pham fled Vietnam at the age of 17 in a boat. He now
donates some of his winnings to the less fortunate in Vietnam. David Pham now
resides in Bell Gardens California with his four children. David is also a cousin
and understudy to well known poker star Men the master Nguyen. In 2001 he would
be named player of the year by Card Player. The same year he would also win
his first WSOP bracelet for the $2000 S.H.O.E event, this would also be the
only year he finished in the money placing 44th in the $10,000 no limit event.
In February 2003 he would take home the $457,320 first prize in the LA Poker
Classic $1500 limit hold em. In late December of the following year he outlasted
Alan Goehring heads up to take the prize of $414,419. Since the WPT has been
established David has seen 3 final tables but has yet to take a first place
in the event. His total live tournament winnings exceed $3,600,000. Hell of
